We men get it easy when it comes to planning the wedding day. We're happy to let our partners take the lead and make the big decisions.
The planning stages can often be frantic and overwhelming but there is a number of essentials a Groom needs to get right.
Stand Out From the Guests
Your job is too look fantastic on the Big Day. An amazing suit is all too often ruined by a cheap bow tie or tie, or an otherwise lack of attention to detail. It can be very obvious that the bow tie being worn was a cheap polyester one that came free with the hiring of the suit.
The quickest and best way to make you stand out from your guests is to go for quality accessories such as lapel pins, bow ties, pocket squares, cufflinks and boutonnieres.
The pictures of your wedding day will last forever and you want to look your best. We recommend checking out a site such as Society Gent (www.societygent.com) who specialise in all luxury accessories. They can even create bespoke bow ties and pocket squares so if you have a theme or a particular passion, you can show this off! Some of our favorite examples below!
Polish Your Shoes
And we don't mean the week before. Have a Groomsman bring a small polishing kit to the venue so that you can give your shoes a quick shine before the ceremony and another buff after you have been outside getting hours worth of photos taken! This way your shoes will be spotless and shine bright all day!
Surprise your Partner with a Gift
Put together a party bag full of thoughtful little gifts for your partner and ask your partner's friends to give it to them when your partner is getting ready to come to the venue. We recommend a favourite drink, party shoe inserts, sweets and most importantly, a romantic card to say how much you're looking forward to seeing them in a few hours. Your partner will love it!
Have Something to Eat
You will be eating a lot on your Big Day but probably not until the evening. Everyone else will get to eat canapés or the like but you will be too busy. You will need all the energy you can find as you will be on you feet all day and smiling! Get some water and eat some fruit for a sow release of energy to keep you going!
Get a Good Night Sleep
This can be hard to do the night before the wedding. Anxiety and excitement will be your bed buddy but it will tell if you've not slept well.
Read a book to take your mind elsewhere and avoid tea and coffee. Play relaxing music or even take a bath with lavender. Just don't forget to set an alarm!
